Without a doubt: the K%26amp;R Book

Reply:Over many years of programming C, the most authorative book that I've found is:
"C: A Reference Manual", Harbison and Steele. It's now in 5th edition and always seems to answer the tricky or obscure questions that other books ignore.
Reply:Y Kanetker is d best book for beginners. and for deep C K%26amp;R book is d best...
Reply:The C Programming Language IS the worst book for beginners of C Language. Its complicated and contains too much unnecessary crap.
I'm in my fourth year of enginnering. If u want just the basics, LET US C by YASHWANT KANETKAR is good. But if u really want to C properly, C: HOW TO PROGRAM by DEITEL is excellent
Reply:hi,
i teach c++ in an Eng college .if you are really zero in C language, then start with "Let us C" by Yashwant Kanitkar
and yes i love teaching ...u can ask me if u have any doubts
good luck
Reply:Try C programming in easy steps http://www.amazon.co.uk/C-Programming-Ea... just to get you started, then go onto the C programming language or also known in the industry as K%26amp;R
http://www.amazon.co.uk/C-Programming-La...
That will take you in into more depth, I have never fully read it apart from the first few chapters, but it is world renowned and I use it as a reference almost every day it lives on my desk lol "how do I do that, oh I see"
Trust me you will need K%26amp;R in your life if you are having problems in C nobody can write about C and explain it better than Dennis Ritchie because he created C
